A new life in College

Sadly, I was not able to pursue my dream of becoming a masscom student or writer for that matter. In my heart, I really want to be but the question is. What awaits me? I feel quite unsure on what my future would be. I guess I'm just maybe "brainwashed" or waking up to my reality but then again, It's still not too late for me to change my mind. I notice that I become excited whenever I talk about business yet I keep asking myself. Is interest enough? i'm in a state of confusion right now and at times I want to go and shift to another course which is business or masscom and at times I just want to stay in my comfort zone. I mean, yes in my school in Velez, I have my friends, I'm accustomed to the time and it's very near my house. I noticed also that there is a pattern in my liking a course. For the first two months last March and April, I was adamant in choosing masscom but after awhile I accepted that I would be a pt. Now, I wanted out again. What if I want to go back? so I don't know really what would these actuations make me. I easily tire of something and what if I tire of my own dream? or is it my dream? I just know that I want to compose songs, sing songs, play the guitar. I want to sell but unfortunately my father is the only buyer. Too many people are taking up business administration, business management and yet in my part, I don't have the capital and I have yet to prove myself of being a capable seller. So my final verdict is...to continue first with my course and If I see that i could really work it out in becoming a seller or a singer, then I would shift.

Iron Man the movie

The movie Iron man started with Tony Stark going along with some soldiers in a car. He voiced out a joke with the soldier who is a woman and then so they were laughing when the army car in front of them exploded. The movie then went back 36 hours earlier, showing Tony as the best scientist and a very intelligent one at that. He had numerous achievements yet he doesn't give much attention for appreciation as what I've interpreted. He gambles and he doesn't care that much about others. When Tony was held captive by terrorist, he realized that his inventions such as the nuclear missile was with them. He, together with the best surgeon, was imprisoned in a solitary room to work on making a nuclear missile. Instead of making one, Tony with the help of the surgeon made a robot-like invention which can fire against the enemies and at the same, is bullet-proof. Tony was able to escape because of that. He returned and decided to close his company which is making nuclear weapons when he saw how destructive his inventions were. Obadiah Stane, his partner and former partner of his father, was angry about it. He is apparently selling these weapons to the terrorists without Tony knowing about it. He sought to destroy Tony. Tony then made an improvised robot-like invention of what he did in the cave. He tested its limits. Stane went to the camp of the terrorists and double crossed the leader of the terrorist through a 15 minute paralysis invention. He also used it to Tony after. Pepper, the ever loyal and somewhat lover of Tony, was instructed by Tony to download some informations from Stane's computer. Stane knew it so he then used the nerve paralysis invention to Tony, He also got the heart of Tony. Stane also made a robot-like invention, the same as Tony's. They then fought and with the help of Pepper, Tony succeeded in defeating Stane. The ending was a shocker, as Tony then admitted to all that he was the so-called "Iron Man". This movie really made me feel that I need to achieve something without even craving for appreciation. I felt the sincerity of Tony's acts to help the world. If only I could invent an iron man or any hero too for that matter, so that I could help others then I would. Reality bites. i couldn't do anything like that. Yet I know that in my own little ways, I could make a difference in this busy and indifferent world. If only people would stop being too self-centered then others would be given a chance to live life the way life must be live. Heroic plots of movies rekindled the saying "With great power comes great responsibility" but I dare say this is better than "no power and no responsibility"
God bless.

Forbidden kingdom--review

The movie starring Jackie Chan and Jet Li was quite impressive. Even from the start, you could see the J intertwining the names of the major casts stated. The plot, although not new to us, still holds the mystery that we are craving for. A simple teenager which is played by Michael Angarano is fun of watching Kung fu. He often goes to this particular dvd rental store which is owned by an old man. Michael, upon seeing a staff-like weapon, stated that it was for monks and asked the old man why he had it but the old man said nothing. Michael was often bullied by a gang, he can't help himself then. The gang decided to rob the dvd rental store where Michael frequently rents Kung fu movies. The old man was shot by the leader of the gang, before he died he handed the staff-like weapon. Michael ran and was absorbed by a powerful force until he fell. He then awoke in another place where the language is not known. People were wearing different clothes and he was also wearing something different. Suddenly, warriors were seen slaughtering the people. He was seen and he was about to be attacked when a drunken traveler came by and helped him. He was actually a master of kung fu which is Jackie Chan. They went then to a tea house and Jackie Chan talked about the weapon that was once owned by the monkey king. The monkey king was so powerful with the weapon but then once when he fought with a general, the weapon was taken out and he was frozen by the general. Legend says that there would be a person who would return the weapon and set free the monkey king. There was a girl who heard them talking, her name was Sparrow. When the soldiers attacked jackie Chan and Michael, she helped them. So the three of them journeyed together, then one morning, the weapon was taken by a monk riding a horse. The three of them followed him in a temple. Jackie Chan and another Jet Li fought until they knew they were there for the same cause. They then traveled and after that they encountered the witch who was promised by the general of an elixir of immortality so she needs the weapon given to her. Her wrath caused Jackie Chan to lay wounded. Michael was so sad about it, he decided to go on with his journey alone since the monk would not allow him to go out. Michael wants to save his teacher, Jackie Chan by getting the elixir of immortality. Bravely, he set forth and he was about to be killed when the three of his companions, sparrow, Jackie in a stretcher carried by kung fu kids, and the monk helped him fight off the enemies. The elixir was then dranked by Jackie and he became well. Jackie Chan fought later with the witch when sparrow was wounded because of fighting with the witch. The monk died trying to defend Michael. The monkey king was set free by Michael and it turned out that the monk was just a hair/copy of the real monkey king. Sparrow decided to aim her jade weapon to the general for murdering her mother but then the jade weapon went back to her. She then died. Michael was chagrined about it, nevertheless, he was the one who killed the general with the jade weapon. (Romantic inclinations of the story/plot was not included as I feel it's not that relevant) At the end though, one would expect that he went back to his world, studying the kung fu. He met out of a sudden a girl with the same looks of that of the one who died. Jackie Chan apparently was the old guy shot but still was alive because of the elixir of immortality. The plot was entertaining but not original. There were so many questions left unanswered but then i recommend this to all because not all in life could be deciphered. The mystery of it is what gives it spice.

New PCSO Lotto draw for the rich starts in May (reaction)

What? Did I read this article found in Manila Bulletin right? This article even stated 'The lotto draw especially designed for the rich will start operating next month to make them even richer' It further stated that the bet would cost P50 for a minimum of P50 Million Jackpot. Seriously, I felt bad for the poor. It's not the poverty itself which is more depressing but the discrimination and the significance of status in the society. The article also contains the reason or the logic that higher sales would lead to greater contribution to charity projects of the PCSO particularly in the medical field. Now, I'm not complaining about the prize or the higher sales that would benefit PCSO. I'm just worried as it is. Goods these days are eligible for the rich already as prices are rising to the highest level, now even specific Lottos are already designed for the upper class. One cannot blame them if they resort to receiving money from politicians who have vested interest for those critics did not give them money but these politicians "cared" to do so. Life here on earth is a cycle. If a community does not give priority to the poor, the poor wouldn't give priority to what is right either. After all, what is right wouldn't let them survive much less eat. I just felt that the poor would have lesser chances of getting rich than the rich getting more richer because of this project. On the other hand, this could also make the rich contribute to the projects and charities of the PCSO, though indirectly.

Ricemill owners face shutdown for lack of buyers (Manila Bulletin reaction

Lack of buyers of milled rice gave the big ricemill owners no choice but to shut down their operations in Pangasinan. Rice dealers in Metro Manila and other non-rice producing areas have stopped buying from them for fear of being raided by government agents on suspicion of hoarding.Because of the low demand, the buying price of palay for the past few days has drastically dropped from P19 to P16.20. Ricemills in Nueva Ecija and Isabela province face the same dilemma. The rice millers said that the government would save at least P600 per bag if the NFA will buy from them. At present, they said the government is importing rice at US$ 1,090 per metric ton, which they said is around P2,229 per bag which is more expensive than the P1,600 per bag that the rice millers are selling. Abono Party-list President Ponciano Onia asked "Why is the government insisting on rice importation when every province has been declaring surplus production? The government should instead buy from the farmers and the millers to keep the local rice industry alive.I agree on what President Onia said. The way I see it, I feel that the government doesn't have much faith on the capabilities of the Filipinos, instead of supporting the Filipinos in their talents and wisdom, the government chose to rely more on importation. There were too many opportunities that were lost because of lack of support. Like for example, the dragon ball story created by a Filipino, not supported by fellow Filipinos, sold to Japan then Japan decided to sell it again to the Filipinos but with a higher price already. Every time we hear that this particular gadget, say a cellphone came from Japan or US, one would really expect that cellphone to be "high tech", "latest and "in" in the society. Upon giving chocolates coming from switzerland, US and the like, the Filipino receiving it would smile from ear to ear. One, however would sigh with disgust receiving a Philippine-made chocolate. The government is no different. Foreigners and foreign countries are given priority. The government trust what others made and not what we are making. No wonder we have this rice crisis. No wonder we still remained as a third world country being looked down and discriminated by other foreigners who we looked up to.

Pinoy Big Brother Teen Edition-April 25,2008

Being a fan of Pinoy Big Brother edition, I never knew that I could be so lucky as to have a live stream. I was contented with the primetime and the updates of the forumers in pex. Before, I thought that it would be too tiring to watch 24/7 on the house mates but then I realize I could just choose to turn it on or not. My favorite in PBB is the Yonic loveteam. Yes, you guess right. Like everybody else, I'm a sucker for loveteams. I get too addicted if the people involved are "bagay" or compatible, has chemistry and the like. I feel so happy about my situation. Although I know there are so many books waiting for me. Now speaking about books, there's my political science and philosophy still in my desk. I know I have to attend to it tomorrow. Wish me luck :) Anyway, what happened in PBB is that Nicole and Josef have their respective partners. These two though are starting to like each other..proofs are their conversations, actions and eyes which just proves to me that the eyes are really the windows to our soul
